There are lots of reason to shun commercial kitchen and window cleaners:

- You may have a child and want to keep the surfaces of your house as free from complex synthetic chemicals as possible.

- Or maybe you’ve got a date coming over in one hour, food on the stove and just ran out of cleaner and no time to run to the store (ok, yes, this is how I got the idea for the article). 

Whatever the reason, “We’re not losing anything by using inexpensive, natural ingredients,” says Melissa Kaye, owner of Healthy Homes Cleaning in Boston, “We’re using the same methods people used, successfully, before the industrial revolution.”
